Unique and visionary.

Akash Winery is unique with incredible design sense and rare vision. Their logo, stainless steel vats, bottles, and tasting glasses are exhibit all of these qualities. The owner, Akash Patel hopes to plant Pinotage to honor his parents who are from Africa. While the winery isn’t officially open for wine tasting, you can go to the website, AkashWinery.com, to set up a private tour and tasting. It is well worth your time and energy. 

What I learned at this winery:

Stainless steel vats have cooling jackets around them to keep the temperature between 35 and 40 degrees. The glycol system works inside the jackets to help control fermentation and storage temperatures.
